Kasargod: Woman sent back at border delivers inside ambulance

Daijiworld Media Network - Kasargod (SP)

Kasargod, Mar 27: On account of coronavirus concerns, all roads located at the district and state border here have been sealed and even minor roads are either closed or closely monitored.

A woman from Kunjathur in Kasargod suffered from labour pain today.

She was being taken in an ambulance to Mangaluru for delivery but the personnel manning the district border refused her permission to proceed to Mangaluru.

The ambulance was therefore turned back. When the lady was being taken back to Kasargod hospital, her delivery happened inside the ambulance, it is gathered.

The curfew is to save the country. But sending back a pregnant woman and following the curfew in this way is not a good idea. We should not forget our responsibility. What is the meaning of saving the people.

Ridiculous to see some of them here appreciating or agreeing that the police was right in sending back. You never experienced it nor you know the pain of delivery. Humble request , don’t loose humanity. Shame on you guys. Be an Indian first

Humanity is missing during this crucial period! The guards manning K'Nataka border should've let the ambulance inside. This is just not done

j.anata now you will tell humanity is missing yes I do agree it is not right but what can we do mangalore already has 5 covid cases in which 3 are from kasargod. Now if we would have let them in and if anyone would have had covid imagine mangaloreans state then. Later people will question border officers who let them in. Now humanity later only trash talks.

Since they reached border she should have been allowed to enter. Being a woman I feel this is humanity and nothing else above humanity. Every rule has an exception

It was told in news everyone knew border is closed. Atleast the ambulance driver should have known this simply opening borders is not safe what is anyone in that ambulance is corona positive. One small mistake can lead to a disaster look at ITALY now. Very good please karnataka govt do not open the border

What happened to those 50-60 ambulances which used to come to mangalore daily?
All those emergency cases could only be handled in specialists of Mangalore.
    Hope they will find peace
