Puttur: Economics fest ‘Ecozenith’ held at St Philomena College

Puttur, Feb 24: The post graduate department of economics of St Philomena College, Puttur organised an invitational inter-collegiate Economics Fest ‘Ecozenith 2020’ on February 20, at PG Seminar hall.

The campus director and chairperson of Centre for PG Studies of the college Fr Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro inaugurated the Fest and expressed the best wishes. Principal Prof Leo Noronha delivered the presidential address.

The coordinator of the Department Prof Dinakara Rao and convenor of the fest Pradeep K S coordinated the programme.

The faculties of the department Sandhya H and B T Sowmya were present on this occasion. Swetha and team performed the prayer. The president of the Planning Forum, Amrutha K welcomed the gathering.

Mahammad Aseef proposed the vote of thanks. Jayalakshmi compered the programme.

‘Ecozenith 2020’ consisted of six events. Among 19 teams participated from various colleges of Puttur, Sullia, Kadaba, Bantwal and Belthangady taluks, Vivekanda College Puttur bagged the overall championship.

Anugraha First Grade College for Women, Kalladka secured the runner-up trophy. In T-Shirt Painting on the theme ‘Save Environment’, GFGC Jidekallu, Puttur secured the first prize and KSS College Subrahmanya bagged the second prize. In Elocution on the topic ‘Union Budget and India in 2020’, Vivekananda College secured the first prize and GFGC Jidekallu, Puttur secured the second prize.

In Quiz, Vivekananda College secured the first prize and KSS College Subrahmanya bagged the second prize. In Mock Press, Vidya Rashmi First Grade College Savanoor secured the first prize and GFGC for Women, Puttur bagged the second prize. In Model Presentation on the topic ‘Green City–Clean City’ Vivekananda College secured the first prize and GFGC for Women, Puttur bagged the second prize. In Eco-Fashion Show, Anugraha First Grade College for Women, Kalladka secured the first prize and Vivekananda College bagged second prize.

In the valedictory programme, campus director and chairperson of Centre for PG Studies of the College Fr Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, principal Prof Leo Noronha and Coordinator of the department Prof. Dinakara Rao felicitated the prize winners.

Mishriya welcomed the gathering. Shubha proposed the vote of thanks. The convenor of ‘Ecozenith 2020’ Pradeep K S presented the list of prize winners. Shishmitha Rai compered the programme.
