Mangaluru, Jun 20: St Aloysius Gonzaga School, celebrated the feast of its patron, St Aloysius Gonzaga, on Friday, June 20 with devotion and joy. The celebration also marked the felicitation of the outgoing principal, Fr Melwyn Anil Lobo SJ, who was honoured for his dedicated service. The event unfolded in three sessions for students of KG to V, VI to XII, and a special staff gathering.

Addressing the gathering, Fr Melwin Pinto SJ, rector of St Aloysius Institutions, lauded Fr Melwyn for his transformative leadership, saying, “He walked with his people, holding hands and guiding with clarity, rooted in Jesuit values.” Speaking to the students, he urged them to remain curious, kind, and rooted in values, reminding them that “true success lies in being helpful to others, living with gratitude and grace.” In his message to the staff, Fr Melwyn Anil Lobo SJ thanked them for their trust and cooperation, encouraging them to stay united in mission and purpose.

The newly appointed principal, Fr Rohan D’Almeida SJ, expressed his commitment to carrying forward the mission of holistic Jesuit education grounded in compassion and competence.

The event included prayer, reflections on St Aloysius Gonzaga, and cultural presentations that celebrated service and faith. The staff programme concluded the day with warm farewells and shared memories. Vice-principals Laurel D’Souza, Aparna Suresh extended heartfelt appreciation, making it a day to remember.
