Udupi, June 20: A complaint has been registered at the Udupi Cyber, Economic and Narcotics (CEN) police station in connection with an alleged fake NEET scorecard scam that recently came to light.

According to the complaint, Roshan Shetty reported that his son was preparing for the NEET examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). During his preparation, Ronak came across a social media user operating under the handle Editing Master (@EDITINGMASTER-d6r), who allegedly offered digital manipulation services for national-level examination results, including NEET, JEE, and CBSE.

The student contacted the individual via WhatsApp using the numbers 9518421109 and 8954785161. The accused, identifying himself as Vishnu Kumar, allegedly promised to deliver a forged NEET scorecard and OMR sheet in exchange for a payment of Rs 17,000.

Believing the offer to be genuine, the student transferred the amount through a mobile payment app. Shortly after, he received forged documents resembling authentic NEET results. The fake scorecard falsely showed an all-India rank of 107, whereas his actual rank was in the 17-lac series. The forged scorecard did not match the original result issued by the NTA.

Realizing the deception, Ronak's father approached the police and filed a formal complaint, seeking legal action against the accused.

The police have launched an investigation into the case.
