Bengaluru: Ready to resign if self-respect is hurt – BJP MLA Renukacharya

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Aug 21: Honnali BJP MLA Renukacharya, who had earlier said he was not aspiring for the cabinet berth and would not feel bad if not made a minister, has now taken a u-turn.

On Wednesday, Renukacharya hinted he will resign in case his self-respect is hurt. The MLA was taken aback when he did not find his name in the first list. What added more fuel to the fire was that Laxman Sangappa Savadi’s name featured in Yediyurappa’s cabinet.

“What was the need to give ministerial berth to Savadi? Ministerial berths could have been given to MLAs who have won,” he said adding he will not shy in speaking against what is not right.

BJP’s central leadership surprised many with its choice of Lakshman Savadi and CC Patil, two former ministers who were forced out of the cabinet after being caught watching pornographic clips in the legislative assembly.

Umesh Katti also seconded Renukacharya and said he will resign if his name does not feature in the in further appointments to boards and corporations. MLA Ramappa Lamani also voiced a similar opinion.

Voices of dissent are already being heard in the newly formed BJP government in the state. However, senior BJP leader Eshwarappa has said that all MLAs will be pacified and the government will function smoothly.

This MLA's record is nothing to write home about. If my memory serves me right, he was also involved in several corruption cases. It is very clear that Yeddyurappa was not given a free hand to choose his ministers. Although he is the CM, he will be feeling like a caged bird now. He will have to dance to the high command's tune.

BJP MLA Renukacharya if resigns then his old case 'Chuma' with Ex-girlfriend Jayalakshmi, a nurse & harassment case will be ordered by none other than the Home Minister Amit Shah.

Jayalakshmi, popularly known as ‘Nurse Jayalakshmi’, made headlines in 2007 when she accused Renukacharya of sexual harassment. She even released photographs of them kissing and alleged that she was driven to attempt suicide as the minister was forcing her to marry him.

Then, in 2010, Renukacharya said that Jayalakshmi had withdrawn the case she filed against him and that it was nothing but an attempt to tarnish his image.

Jayalakshmi joined the Mahila Empowerment Party and wanted to contest against Renukacharya in his own constituency of Honnalli in Davanagere district, but has instead been given a ticket from the BTM Layout constituency in Bengaluru.

Ministerial position is given based on highest number of guaranteed votes and cost of position. There might be bigger Bhakths ahead of you in Yeddy cabinet.
