Karkala: Injured student succumbs after bike-car collision

Karkala, Apr 29: A student who had sustained serious injuries in an accident near a private college here has succumbed despite treatment, reports said.

The deceased has been identified as Prerana, who was travelling as a pillion rider on the bike. In the accident that occurred on April 24, bike rider Naveenchandra Moolya had suffered grievous injuries and died on the spot. It is now learnt that his daughter too has passed away in hospital despite treatment.

Prerana and her father Naveen Chandra Moolya were returning home on a bike after going to the college for an examination when a car carrying students of the college, allegedly coming at speed from Karkala towards Nitte, collided with the bike near a petrol bunk.

A case has been registered at Karkala police station.
