Amaravati, Apr 29: Andhra Pradesh chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday called upon party leaders and workers to reinforce the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) at the polling booth level, aiming to significantly boost its vote share in upcoming elections.
Addressing party members after administering the oath to the newly formed politburo and national and state committees at the party headquarters in Mangalagiri, Naidu stressed the importance of surpassing the party’s performance in the 2024 elections. He urged leaders to actively showcase the government’s development initiatives during the forthcoming local body elections, expressing strong confidence in achieving a decisive victory.

Naidu reminded party members that the next general elections are only three years away and emphasized that the alliance was given a clear mandate to rebuild and transform the state. He asserted that increasing the vote share would be a true measure of the government’s effectiveness.
Highlighting the importance of unity, he called for strong coordination with alliance partners Jana Sena and the BJP at the grassroots level, while advising party workers to avoid controversies. He noted his own positive working relationship with Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena leader Pawan Kalyan, urging cadres to maintain similar harmony. He also stressed maintaining a healthy relationship with the central government.
Naidu described the TDP as a party known for its disciplined and committed cadre, stating that despite challenges over its 44-year history, its strength and spirit have remained intact. He expressed confidence that the party will continue to endure as long as the Telugu people stand united.
Speaking about the formation of the new committees, Naidu said the process was more extensive than ever before, involving careful planning and selection. He explained that the committees were structured to balance experience and fresh talent, while recognizing dedicated workers. Leaders from grassroots roles, such as Mandal Party Presidents and Cluster In-Charges, were also included in key decision-making bodies.
Reinforcing the party’s core values, he stressed that discipline must guide everyone—from grassroots workers to top leadership. He advised leaders to remain approachable, interact respectfully with the public, and act as a bridge between the government and the people. Any misconduct, he warned, could damage both the party’s reputation and the government’s credibility.
Naidu also praised his son, Nara Lokesh, who has taken on the role of national working president. He credited Lokesh with playing a crucial role during the party’s time in opposition, particularly in training party workers and supporting their welfare. He added that Lokesh is working tirelessly to fulfil the promise of creating 20 lakh jobs and has been instrumental in attracting global investments to Andhra Pradesh. The appointment, he said, reflects both trust and responsibility.
The Chief Minister further stated that with support from the central government, Andhra Pradesh’s economy is gradually recovering. He highlighted efforts to revive stalled central schemes, restructure debts, and implement the “Super Six” welfare guarantees. He also claimed that the government has restored the state’s reputation and public trust.
Criticizing the YSR Congress Party for spreading misinformation, Naidu urged party workers to counter such narratives with facts. He accused the opposition of obstructing development efforts but noted that investor confidence in the state remains strong, leading to significant inflows of investment despite challenges.
