Kasargod, May 8: The inauguration of the residence of priests at Permude St Lawrence church was held on Monday May 7.

Kayyar Christ the King Church parish priest, Fr Victor D’Souza inaugurated the residence and blessed it. The solemn mass later was offered by Fr Reginald D’ Mello.

Kasargod diocese chief priest Father Valerian Frank, Fr Victor D’Souza, Fr Joy Mathew, Fr Anil D’Souza, Fr Cyril Walder, Fr Benjamin D’Souza, Fr Sebastian Peter, Fr Justis Paul, Fr C D Thomas, Fr Daniel Veigas, Fr Mackenzie Mendonca, Fr Sunil D’Souza, Fr Navin Rodrigues, Fr Biju Sebastian, Fr Kantaraj, Permude St Lawrence church chief priest Melwyn Fernandes, deacon Pathik Pereira and deacon Sunil Lobo were present.



Fr Valerian Frank presented prizes to winners of arts festival group dance held under the aegis of Kasargod diocese youth forum, Vinisha Rodrigues, Periadka, Ria D’Souza Channikodi, Neema Joyce Crasta, Periadka, Anisha D’Souza Channikodi, Veena Sushmitha Crasta Mani, Monica Crasta Mani, Konkani duet song junior division first prize winners Sharishma D’Souza Channikodi and Jackson D’Souza Channikodi and Konkani poetry reading senior division first prize winner Fevina Crasta.

Permude St Lawrence Church was proclaimed a parish on April 19. The construction of the new building is in progress and work on the residence is completed.
