Chennai, Jul 21: The makers of Hi, starring Nayanthara and Kavin, have announced that the romantic drama will hit theatres on August 14, setting up a box-office clash with Suriya's Vishwanath and Sons over the Independence Day weekend.

While the makers are yet to reveal an official synopsis, the teaser and posters released so far suggest that the story revolves around two neighbours who gradually fall in love. The promotional material hints at a light-hearted romantic entertainer, with Nayanthara and Kavin sharing a warm and playful on-screen chemistry.

The newly released teaser offers a glimpse into the film's romantic tone, introducing the lead pair and highlighting their budding relationship while keeping key plot details under wraps.

Apart from Nayanthara and Kavin, the film features Bhagyaraj, Radikaa Sarathkumar, Prabhu, VTV Ganesh, Sathyan, Amrutha Srinivasan, Adithya Kathir, Kureshi, FEFSI Vijayan, Kaavya Arivumani and Mirchi Kemy in pivotal roles.

The music has been composed by Jen Martin, while Rajesh Shukla serves as cinematographer. Philomin Raj is the editor and Sekar B is the art director.

Hi is produced by Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan under their banner Rowdy Pictures in association with SS Lalit Kumar's Seven Screen Studio and Zee Studios.

The film's release on August 14 will see it compete with Suriya's Vishwanath and Sons, directed by Venky Atluri, making the Independence Day weekend one of the biggest Tamil box-office clashes of the year.
