Mumbai, Sep 15: Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu has shared glimpses of her traditional baby shower ceremony on social media, giving fans a peek into the intimate celebrations as she prepares to embrace motherhood with husband and filmmaker Raj Nidimoru.

Sharing pictures from the ceremony on Instagram, Samantha spoke about her deep respect for Indian traditions and the significance she finds in rituals passed down through generations.

“I have always had a deep respect for our traditions. I may not understand the meaning behind every ritual, but I have always believed that there is something deeper at work... in the sound of a mantra, the energy created through chanting, and the careful way these ancient practices have been passed down through generations,” she wrote.

The ceremony followed traditional rituals, with Samantha and her family participating in prayers and ceremonies intended to bless the mother-to-be and her unborn child. Reports said the celebrations also incorporated elements of the Srividya tradition, including Kalaa Aavarana, abhishekam and the recitation of Devi Khadgamaala. Samantha said the priest conducting the ceremony explained the significance of the rituals to her, leaving her feeling deeply blessed and protected.

For the occasion, Samantha first appeared in a mustard-yellow Anarkali suit before changing into a butter-yellow Kanjivaram silk saree. The saree, from traditional Indian loom brand Sutrani, featured delicate geometric checked bootis woven in pure zari and a vintage-inspired herringbone gold border, according to the brand.

She paired the saree with traditional gold temple jewellery from Varnam - Fine Jewels Lounge. Samantha wore her hair in a bun decorated with white gajra flowers and opted for a soft, monochromatic makeup look with pink lipstick, blush and eyeshadow.

The ceremony featured several traditional customs, with women from the family gathering around Samantha and performing rituals. She was also seen participating in ceremonies involving turmeric, kumkum and sacred water before changing into the Kanjivaram saree.

Samantha's husband Raj Nidimoru was also part of the celebrations, with the couple sharing moments from the ceremony. The intimate gathering drew a warm response from fans and celebrities on social media.

Actor Ram Charan's wife Upasana Kamineni Konidela commented, “So lovely,” while fans described the occasion as a beautiful new chapter in Samantha's life and wished her and the baby good health.

Stylist Neeraja Kona also shared pictures from the celebration, describing it as a pure and heartfelt moment whose energy had to be experienced.

Samantha had announced her pregnancy during the success celebrations of her film Maa Inti Bangaram. Since then, the actress has been sharing glimpses of her pregnancy journey with fans. She has also spoken about embracing motherhood and revealed during an Instagram question-and-answer session that she had gained 11 kg during her pregnancy.

The baby shower marks another memorable moment in Samantha's journey towards motherhood, with the actress choosing to celebrate the occasion through traditional rituals and ceremonies rooted in Indian spiritual practices.
