Mumbai, Jul 20: Actor Tusshar Kapoor says his upcoming film 'Janadesh' marks an important milestone in his career, as it brings together his first collaboration with filmmaker Prakash Jha and his debut in the political drama genre.
Speaking to reporters earlier while reflecting on completing 25 years in the film industry, Tusshar described the film as an intense and thought-provoking fictional story inspired by contemporary political realities.
He said Janadesh explores the state of society through a compelling narrative and presents a hard-hitting take on the country's political landscape without being based on real events.
Expressing his excitement, Tusshar said working under the direction of Prakash Jha has been a rewarding experience and that he is portraying a character unlike any he has played before. He also noted that the film features several fresh faces, making the project even more distinctive.
Apart from Tusshar, the cast includes Shekhar Suman, Rahul Bose, Pragati Srivastava and Ishwak Singh in key roles.
Prakash Jha is widely known for directing acclaimed political dramas such as Raajneeti, Aarakshan, Chakravyuh and Satyagraha. In the digital space, he also earned praise for creating the crime drama series Aashram, starring Bobby Deol.
Alongside Janadesh, Tusshar is also gearing up for the much-anticipated 'Golmaal 5', the latest chapter in Rohit Shetty's blockbuster comedy franchise.
Filming for Golmaal 5 began in March this year with a star-studded ensemble featuring Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi, Shreyas Talpade, Kunal Kemmu and Sharman Joshi. The project officially went on floors on Rohit Shetty's birthday.
Sharing the announcement on social media, the filmmaker reflected on the journey of the franchise, saying the first Golmaal released two decades ago transformed his career. He thanked audiences for their unwavering support over the years and expressed confidence that the team would once again deliver an entertaining cinematic experience with the fifth instalment.
