Mangalore: Tulu movie 'Madime' to hit screens in September

Mangalore, Aug 26: Even as 'Rang', the 51st Tulu movie to be released in the 43-year-old history of Tulu filmdom, is expecting to keep the cash boxes ringing, 'Madime', a movie made by Vijayakumar Kodialbail of 'Oriyardori Asal' fame at considerable investment, has been completed and is preparing to enter the theatres.

Vijayakumar's 'Oriyardori Asal' had created a record of sorts in Tulu cinema by running for over 25 weeks, and setting a new bar of success. 'Madime' is all set to entertain the audiences during September this year. This is a big budget film being dedicated by Sujatha Balakrishna Shetty and produced by Megina Malady Balakrishna Shetty.

The movie's high point is the story, screen play, literature, dialogue, and direction, all of which have been handled by Vijayakumar Kodialbail. Vijayakumar, who had exemplified his eye for detail, creativity, freshness and quality through his 'Oriyardori Asal' cinema, has taken another giant leap by directing his latest movie, 'Madime'.

'Madime', for which filming was done in the city apart from Bekal fort, Abhiman Studio in Bangalore and other places for 43 days, comes with five songs. Two of these songs have been sung by well-known singers, Sonu Nigam and Chitra. Both these artistes are singing Tulu movie songs for the first time. Kodialbail had visited Chennai to get a song recorded through Chitra. Music director of the movie is A K Vijay, and the other songs of the movie have been sung by Mime Ramdas, Ravindra Prabhu, Shamita Malnad, and Vinod Raj. Vinod Raj, son of A K Vijay, is getting an opportunity to sing in cinema through this movie.

The fact that red epic camera, one of the costliest cameras, has been used for filming this movie, is another point that goes in favour of this film. Guruprashanth Rai has discharged responsibility as cinematographer for this movie, while Srinivas Prabhu has done editing work. M K Math and Trishul Shetty have worked as assistant directors. Madan Harini's choreography is sure to catch the imagination of the audiences.

As most of the people associated with this film are famous and experienced, there is high expectation with regard to quality of this movie. Kodialbail's determination not to compromise with quality has heightened these expectations further. Most of the successful faces of Tulu theatre have appeared in this movie, which has every ingredient to make it a hit, like good story, sentiments, suspense, comedy etc. This movie has been made by retaining some of the good contents of Kodialbail's hit play, 'Madime', and including some supportive and other necessary details to make it more interesting and captivating. When questioned about fight sequences in the movie, Kodialbail in his inimitable style, said that there will be fights in cinema theatres for tickets when the movie is released.

Hit pair of 'Asal', Likhit Shetty and Ramya Barne, have donned the roles of the leading pair in this movie. Navya has acted opposite Umesh Mijar. Usha Bhandary, Bhojaraj Vamanjoor, Santosh Shetty, Chetan Rai Mani, Raghavendra Rai, Sandeep Shetty Maibettu, Prasanna Bailoor, Sunil Nelligudde, Manju Rai Muloor, Rohini Jagaram, Ramesh Kalladka, Dayanand Kulal Urwa, Arun Shetty Mangaladevi, Yadav Mannagudde, Vinod Yekkur, Mangesh Bhat Vittal, and Harish Moodbidri have donned some of the important roles in this film.

Kodialbail's previous movie had run for over 175 days. If 'Madime' breaks this record and runs for not less than 200 days, Vijayakumar will no doubt emerge as a person having no parallel in the arena of Tulu cinema.
