Beltangady: Two arrested in drug peddling case

Beltangady, Sep 9: The police here arrested two persons who were allegedly attempting to sell drugs near the government high school ground at Guruvayanakere and seized ganja and MDMA from them.

The arrested have been identified as Tvalha alias Ajjar alias Ansar (21), a resident of Sunnath Kere in Kuvettu village, and Ibrahim (29), a resident of Pilichandikallu.

Police noticed four persons standing near two-wheelers in a hilly and wooded area close to the ground. When the police approached them, the group attempted to flee. Police chased and caught two of them.

MDMA worth Rs 5,000 was seized from Ansar, while 29 grams of ganja was recovered from Ibrahim.

Beltangady police have continued their search for Hamzath Karar and Naushad, who fled the spot.
