Mangaluru, Sep 9: A 19-year-old youth who had gone missing after leaving for Bengaluru in search of employment has been traced and is safe.

Ajay D’Souza, a resident of Hosapadapu Kallapu Patla in Permannur village, had left for Bengaluru on August 9 seeking work. On August 10, he had called his family and informed them that he had joined a hotel in Bengaluru. However, he did not disclose his location.

When his family tried to contact him on August 11, his phone was found switched off. Following this, his mother lodged a complaint at the Ullal police station, and a missing-person case was registered.

Ajay has now contacted his mother and informed her that he had been unable to communicate as his mobile phone was under repair.

With Ajay being traced and contact established with his family, the matter has brought relief to his relatives.
