Bengaluru, Sep 8: The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) has climbed seven places to secure the 21st position globally in the Financial Times Masters in Management (MiM) Rankings 2026.
The rankings, published on Monday, placed IIM Bangalore as the highest-ranked Indian business school. The institute is also the only Indian B-school to feature among the global top 25.
IIMB, which offers the two-year full-time Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP), had secured the 28th position in 2025 and 41st place in 2024, marking an impressive improvement of 20 places over the past three years.
The institute recorded significant progress across several career-related indicators. Its Career Progress rank improved to 69 from 90 in 2025, while its Careers Service rank rose to eighth place from 11th. The Weighted Salary score also improved, reflecting stronger salary outcomes for its graduates.
IIM Bangalore also witnessed a major improvement in its Alumni Network ranking, rising to 19th globally from 31st last year. Its Value for Money rank improved to 65 from 78.
The institute also showed progress in diversity and sustainability-related indicators. The proportion of women on IIMB's board increased to 44% from 40%, while its ESG Net Zero Teaching rank improved to 74 from 86.
IIMB Director-in-charge Prof U Dinesh Kumar said the latest ranking reflected the transformational value of an IIM Bangalore education and the growing global impact of its graduates.
The Financial Times MiM ranking assesses business schools based on 19 criteria, including employment outcomes, return on investment, diversity, environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors, and internationalisation. Alumni feedback accounts for 56% of the overall assessment, while data provided by institutions carries the remaining 44%.
IIM Bangalore shares the 21st position with WU Vienna University of Economics and Business, Austria.
The University of St Gallen in Switzerland topped the Financial Times Masters in Management Rankings 2026, followed by Portugal's Nova School of Business and Economics in second place and Shanghai Jiao Tong University: Antai of China in third.
