On Wednesday, Sachin and Anjali had met Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to extend a similar invitation for the wedding.
The cricket icon has also invited President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi to attend the ceremony.
Arjun and Saaniya got engaged in August last year. Saaniya Chandhok hails from a prominent business family and is the granddaughter of Ravi Ghai, Chairman of the Graviss Group. She has also been a close friend of Arjun’s sister, Sara Tendulkar, for several years.
Arjun, 26, has featured in five Indian Premier League matches, claiming three wickets while conceding 114 runs and scoring 13 runs. He began his domestic career with Mumbai in 2021 and currently represents Goa.
He was initially picked up by the Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2021 mini-auction for Rs 20 lakh but did not get a game that season. The franchise bought him again for Rs 30 lakh in the IPL 2022 mega-auction, and he made his debut in 2023, taking three wickets in four matches.
Ahead of IPL 2024, when Hardik Pandya replaced Rohit Sharma as captain of Mumbai Indians, Arjun featured in only one match. In the IPL 2025 mega-auction, he went unsold initially but was later acquired by Mumbai Indians at his base price in the accelerated round. He did not get an opportunity to play that season.
Before the IPL 2026 mini-auction, Arjun was traded to the Lucknow Super Giants and is set to represent them in the upcoming season. Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians secured leg-spinner Mayank Markande in a trade with the Kolkata Knight Riders.
