Munich, Jun 13: Rising Indian shooter Suruchi Inder Singh continued her stellar form by storming into the finals of the women’s 10m air pistol event at the ISSF Shooting World Cup (rifle/pistol) in Munich on Friday.
Suruchi shot an impressive 588 with 20 inner 10s to secure the second position in the qualification round, just behind China’s Yao Qianxun, who topped with a Qualification World Record Junior score of 589 - 21x.

Meanwhile, Olympic medallist Manu Bhaker missed out on a finals berth, finishing a disappointing 25th with 574 - 14x. Another Indian shooter, Palak, placed 36th after scoring 570 - 18x.
Suruchi, 19, from Jhajjar, Haryana, had previously defeated Manu to win gold in the same event at the Lima World Cup earlier this year. That victory marked her second straight ISSF World Cup gold, after a maiden podium finish in Buenos Aires in April.
Manu, a two-time bronze medallist at the Paris 2024 Olympics, had managed a silver in Peru but left Buenos Aires empty-handed. In Munich, she also placed sixth in the women’s 25m pistol final.
In the RPO (Ranking Points Only) section, Indian shooter Sainyam impressed with a 580 - 23x score.
Earlier in the tournament, Olympian Elavenil Valarivan opened India’s medal tally with a bronze in the women’s 10m air rifle event. Following that, India’s Sift Kaur Samra secured a bronze in the women’s 50m rifle 3 positions, continuing her impressive international run.
