Headingley, Jun 7: Team India’s star pacer Jasprit Bumrah shared a light moment on arrival in the United Kingdom for the five-Test series against England starting June 20 at Headingley. The Indian squad was all smiles as they touched down, ready for what promises to be a tough contest.

Bumrah, who is seen as a key figure in India’s quest to win their first Test series in England since 2007, humorously teased a teammate for wearing sunglasses at night, saying in Hindi, “Raat mein bande ne chashme pehne hue hain” (The guy is wearing shades at night).

India will be counting on Bumrah’s lethal pace, especially with key batsmen like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli absent from the lineup.

Ahead of departure, head coach Gautam Gambhir clarified that Bumrah is likely to play in only three of the five Tests, depending on various factors and the flow of the series. Gambhir told ESPN Cricinfo,

“We haven't taken that call, which three games he is going to play. We are going to have a discussion with him and depending on the series as well. A lot will depend on the results of the series, where the series is heading. That is something which I am sure he is very well aware of as well and that is important.”

The team is gearing up for a challenging series, with fans eager to see Bumrah’s impactful bowling on English soil.
