Shivamogga, Dec 3: Soon after communal violence were reported from Shivamogga, home minister Basavaraj Bommai gave a brief insight on the matter. "I have asked IG of Davangere to report to Shivamogga immediately. The violent incidents that have been reported in the city have taken place in two police station limits. The IG and SP are inspecting the matter. Minister Eshwarappa and Raghavendra will conduct meeting with the people to pacify the situation. I have also asked the IG and SP to take necessary action based on the situation," he said.

Earlier today, tahsildar Nagaraj imposed prohibitory orders under Section 144 in the city which will come in force from Thursday, December 3 till Saturday, December 5 after incidents of communal violence erupted in the district.

As per reports, groups of people belonging to two communities had resorted to violence in the Kota police station limits.

A police case in this connection was registered in Kota police station under registration No. 146/2020, IPC section 120(b), 341, 504, 324, 307 and 34.

Section 144 of the criminal procedure code 1973 has been imposed throughout Shivamogga to prevent untoward incidents between the two communities as a precautionary measure.

    Residents of Mangaluru are on tenterhooks....They vividly recall, their peaceful city, being held to ransom, under seize, by radicalized vandals, who created mayhem, last December !!! Hope and sincerely pray that the authorities will nip the bud of hatred, and arrest the rabble rousing trouble makers at the earliest....
