Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (MS/HB)

Udupi, Sep 25: A day after rowdy-sheeter Kishan Hegde was murdered in broad daylight at Hiriadka near here, police have confiscated a white Ritz car based on the complaint filed by Divyaraj Shetty, an accomplice of Kishan who was with him at the time of the murder.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that Kishan Hegde was hacked to death by Manoj Kodikere and gang due to some animosity over financial matters. A case under IPC sections 143, 147, 148, 341, 324, 307, 504, 506, 302, 427 and 149 has been registered in Hiriadka police station.

As per the details unearthed during the police investigation, slain rowdy-sheeter Kishan Hegde had come to Udupi along with Hariprasad Shetty in car. After discussion with his lawyer, Kishan was driving the car from Udupi towards Hiriadka to go to Veerabhadra temple. Hariprasad was sitting next to slain Kishan in the front left seat while Divyaraj Shetty was seated in the backseat.

When Kishan Hegde parked the car on the right side of the northern entrance of Veerabhadra temple, Hariprasad Shetty opened the door and was about to get down from the car, while four to five people carrying swords and hammers approached the car from front. One of them hit the windshield of the car with hammer.

Shocked by the sudden attack, the inmates of the car were taken aback. In the meantime, another three to four people approached the car from behind carrying swords and machets and banged on the door window glass near which Kishan Hegde was sitting. In the meantime, Manoj, who is known to Kishan Hegde hit Kishan with sword and injured him. Kishan Hegde tried to escape the attackers by jumping from the left side door of the car. Divyaraj Shetty tried to stop the attackers from hitting Kishan Hegde. The assailants swung the sword to the neck of Divyaraj Shetty. However, Divyaraj Shetty managed to escape.

The accused obstructed Divyaraj Shetty from rescuing Kishan Hegde. Divyaraj Shetty managed to roll on the road and came to the road. In the meantime, Manoj and others stopped Kishan Hegde on the road and assaulted him repeatedly. Kishan fell on the road itself due to the injuries created by the swords of the attackers.

The assailants escaped in a white Ritz car and light yellow Innova car, both of which went towards Karkala side.

Kishan Hegde died on the spot due to the severe injuries he received on his head. Hariprasad Shetty has received injuries on the left side of his head and is being treated in the hospital.

Long ago, Anand Mahindra, & now BJP MP Subramanyam Swamy recently said in an interview that there will be public unrest if the economy is not put on TRACK by MARCH 2021!

As time passes with concomitant economic depression & virulent spread of virus there will be an avalanche of socioeconomic issues never faced by this generation before!
Only divine intervention can save us!

Money related issues will increaseultifold in coming days & months when the 4 month moratorium ends! Many people will have their mortgaged properties & valuables seized due to inability to pay EMIs!

When one cannot pay monthly EMIs, how can he pay 3-4 months combined EMIs along with compounded 7% interest?

Those not able to pay back large loans from money sharks will not be spared & will result in these kind of incidents!

People who have bought houses on big loans will have to vacate when the creditors goons come with legal notices!

This is just a "tremendous calm before the storm " window period before the reality of economic depression sets in!

Decades ago, crimes were unheard, in Dakshin Kannada district... Houses were unguarded, neighborhoods were safe for women... This oasis of peace, tranquility has disappeared forever !!! Rampant demographic changes, across the entire coastal belt of Karnataka, has given way antinational rogues, who are getting embolden, due to their rapidly growing Population and unemployment !!!

Sir, Which 'Rampant demographic changes' you are talking about? They are all not outsiders. They are all from the undivided district only. May be you, could say 'our value systems' have changed over time, of course, not to ignore the 'unemployment' angle that you have mentioned here.
