Los Angeles, Jul 16: Fans of The Batman franchise will have to wait longer for the next instalment, as Warner Bros. has officially postponed The Batman Part II to 2028.
The sequel, which was earlier scheduled for release in 2027, will now arrive in theatres on February 18, 2028.
Despite the delay, director Matt Reeves treated fans to the film's first teaser, offering a brief glimpse of Robert Pattinson reprising his role as the Dark Knight.

The 36-second teaser, shared by Reeves on his X account, opens with the sound of wind and police sirens before revealing Batman standing in the shadows. Pattinson's character is first shown from behind before slowly turning towards the camera, with the teaser ending by displaying the film's updated logo and release date.
Earlier in June, Reeves had announced the commencement of filming by sharing a photograph of the film's clapperboard on social media with the caption, "Here we go...."
While the makers have kept the storyline under wraps, the sequel is expected to expand the dark and grounded Gotham City introduced in the 2022 blockbuster The Batman. Fans anticipate the film will delve deeper into Bruce Wayne's personal struggles while introducing fresh threats to Gotham.
The Batman Part II has been written by Matt Reeves and Mattson Tomlin, with Erik Messerschmidt serving as cinematographer. The film is produced by Dylan Clark, James Gunn and Peter Safran under the banners of Warner Bros. Pictures, DC Studios and Reeves' 6th & Idaho Productions.
Apart from returning as Batman, Robert Pattinson is also set to appear in Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, alongside Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway and Matt Damon. He will also feature in Denis Villeneuve's Dune: Part Three.
