Mumbai, Jul 16: Actress Tamannaah Bhatia has commenced shooting for 'Ragini 3', the latest instalment in Balaji Motion Pictures' popular horror franchise. The film, directed by Shashanka Ghosh, has officially gone on floors with its first shooting schedule in London and is slated for a theatrical release in 2027.

Tamannaah shared the update with fans on July 15 by posting a photograph from the film's set on her Instagram Stories. The image featured the actress holding the film's clapperboard as production got underway.

The London schedule marks the beginning of principal photography, with additional filming planned over the coming months. While the makers have kept the storyline under wraps, the film is expected to blend horror, suspense, romance and unexpected twists, while retaining the franchise's signature appeal.

According to reports, the film also features Junaid Khan, son of actor Aamir Khan, Nargis Fakhri and Aayush Sharma in key roles. However, the makers are yet to officially confirm the complete cast.

Described as a high-concept supernatural thriller, Ragini 3 is being positioned as a "date-night horror" film, combining scares, humour and suspense. The new instalment is also expected to mark a departure from the franchise's earlier erotic-horror theme, placing greater emphasis on supernatural storytelling.

Produced by Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Motion Pictures, a division of Balaji Telefilms Ltd., the film is currently being shot across locations in London.

The Ragini MMS franchise began in 2011 with Rajkummar Rao and Kainaz Motivala in the lead roles. Its sequel, Ragini MMS 2, released in 2014, gained widespread popularity, particularly for the hit song 'Baby Doll' featuring Sunny Leone.
