Muslim youths safeguard Hindu temple amidst riots in Bengaluru

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (MS)

Bengaluru, Aug 12: Riots always leave scars on the minds of people. However, there is a silver lining in the riots that have taken place in the city on Tuesday night. An act of communal harmony that was seen in the midst of the chaos that was prevailing, has made people still believe that harmonious coexistence among Hindus and Muslims still exists.

A group of rioters had attacked the house of MLA Akhanda Srinivasa Murthy. In addition, they had torched the house also. They even put fire to the vehicles that were parked by the side of the road. However, the Hanuman temple, which is exactly opposite to the residence of the MLA was rescued from the rioters by Muslim youths, who made a human chain and prevented the rioters from gaining access to the temple. This video has gone viral on social media and netizens are expressing their appreciation for the group of Muslim youths for their timely action.

According to the details available, it is said that Naveen, a relative of MLA Akhanda Srinivas Murthy had posted derogatory comments about the Prophet on social media. A group of around 500 people belonging to one community gathered near the house of the MLA at around 9.30 pm on Tuesday, August 11. Some of them tried to enter the house of the MLA. In the meantime, another group started pelting stones on the house. Police opened fire in order to control the crowd in which three people died.

The family members of the MLA were not in the house when this incident took place. The window panes of MLAs house were shattered. The mob attacked nearby houses also and also closed the roads towards the MLA's house. Police, who were very few in numbers try to pacify the rioters but they did not budge and continued rioting.

Nice to know there are still some people who protect other peoples places of worship in Bengaluru. May God Bless and reward them accordingly.

However, I am wondering why aren't there like minded people in other parts of world, especially in Turkey and other parts of the other (can't name) world when the Hagia Sofia an Orthodox Christian Cathedral the biggest, grandest and the most important place of worship was turned into a Mosque despite strong objections from the Christian world.

The whole atmosphere in the country has been vitiated by the BJP brand of divisive politics. Unless serious attempts are made by Modi and Amit Shah to douse the politics of hatred, such incidents will only keep proliferating in the future.

A Great Gesture by the Muslims to safeguard the Temple may such acts of Humanity foster communal amity in India.

Karnataka Govt. should take a leaf from Yogi's book. Charge the rioters the cost towards the damage done by them. It's easy to damage public property but would they do such damage to their own property? I'm sure the the CCTV cameras have caught the videos of the rioters. Don't let them go.

Meanwhile, arrest the person who posted the offensive video in social media. Such people are destrohyers of peace and communal harmony.

I agree with Sri anna. But, what mob did was unacceptable....damaging the houses, setting fire on to the parked vehicles, blocking the roads etc. Why you all want to spread corona in a faster way?? You could have approached court and file a case against a concerned person and fight for justice. We are ransacking our own house. We stay in our houses and our houses are in our state. How our houses can be different from the state ? Ultimately we are the one who has to build up our state. Please collect all the amount from the, soon there will be many people who will try to justify their action...

    Hey Langa,
You are the one who set the deadline on 15th May, saying "in 3 months we'll have vaccination for Covid" As per your most trusted Wall Street Journal, Russia is going for mass vaccination only in October and not on 15th August. Hope you have watched the reaction of Doland and Fauci on Russian Vaccine. Also don't miss "Putin's Vaccine gambit" in WSJ and stop counting chicken before they are hatched. BTW, what happened to your another prediction on Trump taming dragon by defaulting 1.06 trillion $ Chinese debt by November?

I don't care which Country releases Vaccine first...Russia, China, Iran, North Korea, US or whichever long as its effective so we could put this scourge behind us for ever...

I was telling you it will be released before US Presidential election 3rd November....there will be lots of stakes here....lets see...

You were saying Vaccine will take 10-15 years...after doing your usual internet research...Never mind when its released in October...try it on your backside Hat...

So, now you are resorting to prevarication and outright lies Langannacharya. Check your comments on 15th May, you said clearly "In 3 months we'll have vaccination" . There's a difference between 'registration' and 'release' Langanna. Tell me where did I say 10 - 15 years? Frankly I thought, the series of articles by good doc Ed would dispel your ignorance, but you seem to be hell-bent on remaining in your dark 'Trench'.

SDPI is not Congress. Whoever it is the guilty have to be punished without mercy. In a civilized country there is no scope for violence. If any offense was committed there are police and courts. The Government must take a very strong action against these criminals and enforce law and order.

Appreciate the presence of mind & Initiative taken by one part of the groups.

However the below action was very dangerous, whoever has done this needs to be taught a good lesson in the public so that no one will dare to do it next time. This indicates Pre-planned event.
