Rajesh/Mangalore has brought a good point. Single layout approval in its spirit is good. Especially considering how narrow our roads are, building without adequate parking etc. However, the powers may be ensure that wherever they own land , the amount of land forgone for road widening is higher than some of the important main roads. So in order to jack up the price of their land, common people will have to shelve a lot of land so that roads leading to the land owned by powers that may be is 4 lane road. The candidates assets net worth increasing each election must be seen from this angle. And if they are real estate barons then God save the Aam aadmi. Last but not least, single layout approval is specifically targetted at poor. If he owns a small piece of land, make the whole process complicated and expensive so that he will sell it off cheaply to some land mafia (read real estate barons) and use that money to buy a flat sold by these very real estate barons or power that my be. To conclude, we may have secular well meaning leaders who at the outset might appear non-controversial, but actually are deep rooted enough to fully utilize every ounce of your hard earned asset by completely abusing teh powers they enjoy.

For a 60x40 site it would cost nothing less than 2.5CR at todays market value. Looks like Bhat maam is trying to pull wool over peoples eyes.

Yogesh Bhat is undervaluing his property for sure. A 30x40 BDA site in HSR layout is nothing less than 1.5 crore. He is valuing it at 10 lakhs. Mr Bhat, it is better to be honest and tell what your property is worth at todays market value. For 10 lakhs you cannot even get 1 cent of land anywhere now.

Best way to decrease Budget Deficit is take over all wealth from all Political Leaders especially from all MLAs', MPs’ and give them back 10 times more than their legally drawn salary from Government. If they need more wealth back on their account, let them come up with proof of legal earning. Just imagine if any PM or President Candidate apply this rule in India, I think we can repay all World Bank Loan within no time. all these figures make a mockery of the working and tax paying class of people. These people cant even afford a decent accomodation on ownership basis even after working for 20 to 30 years of their lives. what they earn cant take care of all the expenses of the family. In the end they are burdened with housing, vehicle, education and various other loans. This is the irony of the common man today and here are these so called politicians whose wealth multiplies many times in a 5 yr tenure. No one is honest enough for us to waste our time voting for undeserving people. whoever comes to power, we common people will still have to fight for our survival.

One of the best thing to do is join politics, which is the best and safe place to make money. Nothing else!
If we go back to most of these rich politicians life history, then we will find that they were poor either driving auto-rickshaw or doing some petty job. Look at them now, millionairs and this is not the end they are growing by more than 100%
Have you seen anyone from us making the growth like our politicians? No...!

No body can guess. Some of them may not even know themselves how much they have in hidden / black assets. Nice to compare the numbers though. at least public knows now. I think it is better to vote for thee richest as he is expected to be less greedy.

Only politicians can grow their assets by more then 100% year on year!!no other industry can.We should bring in a law that requires politicians to file the returns every three months like a pvt limited company along with stringent measures to review all their investments .

In the USA, millionaries join politics to serve people, while in India with a few exceptions, most people join politics to become millionaries. Sadly this is the state of our democracy.
