Kuwait, April 30: The long awaited super hit event ‘Indian Carnival-2011’ was organized at the Entertainment City- Doha here on Friday April 29.

It was the 14th grand event in Kuwait by Hot Stepper, the entertainment wing of the Creative Indians Association.  The highlights of the show were the performances by the latest music director and singer duo Toshi and Sharib Sabri along with the gorgeous looking and rocking performer, Neethi Mohan of the ‘Aasma’ band fame.

A live band performance by the artistes for the first time in the carnival was the spice of the programme.  The day offered tons of free rides, games, discount stalls, mouth watering Indian food stalls, dance performances, music, and a whole lot of entertainment.








































The stage performances started from 6.15 pm with group dances by Desi Strikers, Break House, D’Illusion, Ground Zero and Fusion Dance Academi.  HE the Indian Ambassador to the State of Kuwait Ajay Malhotra released the souvenir.  He was given a grand farewell with Russian music as he will be leaving Kuwait to continue his mission in Russia.  The sponsors were honoured with mementos by Prashanth D'souza, Vinod D'Souza and Wilson D’Souza, marketing sponsor of Creative Indians Association.

Neeti Mohan’s Sizzling Performances

Once Neeti Mohan entered the stage, audiences were fully entertained by her with foot tapping numbers.  Neeti proved that she is not only known for her power packed performances on stage but she is one of the favorites in the crowd, also showed an actor hidden in her. Being a regular on AR Rehman live shows, she has also tried her hand on acting with a role in a Sunny Deol production titled 'Socha Na Tha' and has rendered her voice in playback singing in the movie titled ‘Fruit n Nut’. 
Within no time she has bagged prestigious offers for hosting television shows. She was one of the winners of the show Channel V Popstars and her group ‘Aasma’ composed of the winners of the show. She was also on the Star Plus show ‘Music Ka Maha Muqabla’, where she was part of the winning team Shankar's Rockstars lead by Shankar Mahadevan. Her popularity has not only yielded her gigs in India, but she has a huge fan following in foreign countries as well, and has been flooded with offers from countries like the USA, Australia, and the UK.

Sharib Sets the Stage on Fire

Sharib entertained the crowd with his dynamic stage performance and set the stage on fire with his rocking performance.   Sharib’s popularity ratings soared higher when Shankar Maadevan’s team won the ‘Music Ka Maha Muqabla’ where Sharibs performance was very much applauded by the industry veterans like Rahath Fathe Ali Khan, Ilyia Raja, Anand Raaj Anand, Abhijeet,  Aadesh shrivastav and many more. His hard work, unique singing talent and determination helped him reach the heights of bollywood in a relatively short span of time.

Toshi’s Songs Enthralls Crowd

Finally Toshi, a brilliant music director, a phenomenal composer and a dynamic stage performer made the crowd crazy to dance for his unique style of singing.  No one could stop the crowd from coming in front, dancing and enjoying the performance of Toshi.  Toshi is a learned songster and specializes in many genres ranging from Quwali, Sufi, and Romantic to Pop. He Shot to fame after singing the chartbuster song "Maahi" for the movie Raaz 2 (Mahesh Bhatt), he also composed the Song and became as a full Music Director along with his brother Sharib and thus Started his official music career from the film Raaz - The Mystery Continues in the Blockbuster track Maahi . He along with his brother and finalist of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2005 Sharib Sabri composed the super hit track of Maahi and Maahi rock with me version. After that there were ‘no looking back’, both the brothers then became one of the most promising and loved music director, stage performers and singers. 

When a Kuwaiti Mubarak Al Azmi sung Amitabh bachan’s “Are Diwano…” the whole crowd overwhelmed and gave a huge response for the love of Hindi songs among the Kuwaitis.  The music was provided by visiting artists Sanjay Mathur, Adithya, Sinnel, Monty, Imran Khan and Jaber.  An unique ‘Instant Talent’ was conducted among the audience which got a huge response.  The participated entertained the crowd with songs, jokes and mimicry and awarded with ‘Talented Indians in Kuwait’ certificate and attractive gift vouchers.

The programme was professionally compered by Kuwait’s well-known emcees Lloyd John, Merwin Perreira and Nita Bhatkar. Kuwait’s very own DJ Flames entertained at regular intervals with what’s new and happening at the music scene back home.  The Event was sponsored by Zain, Xcite by Alghanim Electronics – Philips, Almarai, 3 Horses Malt Beverage - distributed by Kuwait Agriculture Company (Silver Sponsor), namasteyKuwait.com, Kuwait Hyatt Hotel and Badra Intl.
