Kundapur: Search for 7-year-old Sannidhi washed away in river continues

Kundapur, Aug 9: The search for seven-year-old student Sannidhi who was washed away in the river from the footbridge at Byndoor’s Kalthodu on Monday was continuing when reports last came in.

It may be recalled that Sannidhi was walking back from school when she slipped from the footbridge at Beejamakki, Bolamballi, Kolthodu village and fell to the river below.

The fire brigade, swimmers and local people have continued their search for her.

Additional SP Siddalingappa and deputy commissioner Kurma Rao have visited the spot.

Kundapur assistant commissioner K Raju and tahsildar Kiran Gaurayya are stationed at the spot. Former MLA K Gopala Poojary visited the residence of the child and consoled her family members.

    It is very sad that a seven-year-old girl, Sannidhi has been washed away n the flooded river. The bridge looks so rickety and dangerous for anyone to walk on it. My thanks to Daijiworld for the photoshoot of the place and especially the bridge. It is a shame.

    We have enough funds for development of Mythological places , Janotsawa, Danotswa etc. ,but no funds for poor citizens basic needs. Jai Hind.

    We have enough funds not for development but for topplng Govt. Why GST ? why not VAT ? How much Karnataka gets GST money from Central, not even 50%. All Goes to North Indian states. We are andh bakthas
