Mangaluru: Heavy rains in coastal districts – Red alert declared on Aug 7

Mangaluru, Aug 6: As heavy rains are lashing the coastal districts red alert is declared on Sunday, August 7 also. This will be applicable to the districts of Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada and Udupi.

The meteorological department had announced red alert in coastal districts till of August 6 morning. However, as there is every possibility of the incessant rains continuing to lash on Sunday also, red alert is declared accordingly.

From August 7 to 11, an orange alert is sounded in the coastal districts.

Earlier till the morning of August 6, red alert and orange alert was declared on August 7. This was followed by yellow alert till August 10. However, now the same is changed to red alert and orange alert.
