Shivaraj Mangalore, This man made problems .Why cut forest and make roads ?Th roots of big trees in forest will be there so that landslide doesnt happen .Cutting trees from dense forest is a big failure.NObody observed the infrastructure ?Only chai pe baath ?Even now try to save what there is.Such a huge mud is collected there instead of collecting elsewhere ?And now crying ?No professionel person to correct it?Everyone knows that mud collected will be dangerous for road and slip off.make one puja!but immediately remove that mud for Gods sake.

Thank god for taking care of the Karma our elected leaders and politicians who converted small hilly roads to national highways by putting heavy earth moving equipment and greed for water made them build a non-descript project called Ettinahole. Every year they have to spend money for clearing the road. Imagine the fate of the passengers if they convert this into a tunnel as proposed by our hungry political leaders

Any temporary solutions for this kind of disaster will not suffice. Why Government cannot find a permanent way out. Again there will be blame game. Present government has not taken any serious note of it. This disaster will increase day by day if it's let off unattended.

On the one hand -- RULING DISPENSATION - Boasting -- -- of every day record - so many KMS - of Highway roads built - world class etc -- while on the other -- Killer Roads -- Land slides - bridges getting washed away ---Stolen -- etc -- A major Ghat road -- lifeline -- feeder from Port City -- Mangalore - Bangalore and other hinterland etc Everyday 1000's of vehicles ply --now in jeopardy --- Overall no hope as this issue going on for years - - No seriousness -- some token visits -- Few carrying umbrellas for their bosses like maharajahs -- needless distractions by way of announcements thereafter -- Tunnel roads -- plastic roads -- concrete roads -- in the end public left to struggle on their own -- A few contractors have lined their pockets well -- with other vested interests -- live in palatial bungalows--

Rampant felling of Western ghat forests and unscientific road construction in the hills without retainer walls or wallropes in high risk areas is backfiring now with a vangeance!! Travelling in the monsoons has become highly risky due to these landslides!!
