May 12: DK reports four Covid cases, Udupi adds one infection

Mangaluru/Udupi, May 12: Dakshina Kannada on Thursday, May 12, reported four coronavirus cases while Udupi registered one infection.

The total number of positive cases in Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,35,536 out of which 15 are currently active.

Two patients were discharged from hospitals on Thursday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,850.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

One case was reported on Thursday. The total active Covid case have risen to two.

No patient was discharged from hospitals on Thursday.

Udupi taluk reported 1 case, Kundapura 0 and 0 case in Karkala.

A total of 10,84,306 people have received first dose of vaccination and 1048499
have received both doses and 68,177 people have received booster dose.
