Bengaluru, Oct 20: CHRIST (Deemed to be University) will begin on-campus instruction for all courses in hybrid mode from October 21.

In his address to the students, CHRIST University Vice Chancellor Fr (Dr) Abraham V M, said the University is delighted to welcome each of the students for on campus learning after the holidays and mentioned that attendance for online learning is mandatory for those students unable to attend on-campus instruction.

End semester examinations, unless notified by the government, will be on campus as well, Fr Abraham said.

Pointing out that many of the students are coming back to campus for the first time in a long time, the Vice Chancellor said it was quite natural to feel apprehensive even as many may be very keen to get back to campus.

With the University offering hybrid classes, there is no chance of students losing out on classes for those opting to stay at home for various reasons. “This is our assurance. From the institution’s side we are phasing out the return of our student community to ease the process of settling down on campus and restoring normal campus life,’’ Fr Abraham said.

“I am sure all of us would have for the longest time felt that a lot has changed since the world first went into Covid-19 lockdown in March 2020. One of the biggest changes felt by students would have been the significant disruption to campus life,’’ Fr Abraham said making it clear that it will be difficult to 'return to the way things were'.

The students must make sure that they have taken both doses of vaccination, submit RTPCR reports, vaccination reports and home quarantine for at least four days before coming to classes for those coming from other States is necessary.

The Vice Chancellor said, “At CHRIST University, we will follow all regulations of containment like wearing masks at all times, maintaining physical distancing, using sanitisers and washing hands frequently. We will also time and again depending on the student numbers who got both vaccination doses, arrange free vaccination drives on campus to ensure more security and protection for you. With the world slowly coming back to normal life transactions, I will however advice you caution and restriction of movement for some more time on your return.’’

CHRIST University has put in place dedicated health officers’ team comprising of campus doctor, counsellors, nurses and faculty members. "Even if you have not become 18, you can get vaccination. Consult our doctor for more details. In case of symptoms such as cold, cough, fever, headache, breathing difficulty, vomiting sensation, diarrhoea or loss of taste or smell after you reach Bangalore, please do not panic and feel you are alone in your suffering, immediately alert your class teacher, who will inform the health officer’s team, you will be shifted to medical care on campus accommodation, we will look after all your needs including food till your guardian comes to take you home,’’ the Vice Chancellor said.

“CHRIST University is with you throughout. We care for your safety and your well-being and we are a family. You will never be helpless, that is our promise to you. These are the systems we are implementing to ensure your safe return to campus and stay. We are looking forward to seeing you here,’’ Fr Abraham added.

Universities are the places of imparting knowledge & expanding the raw potential talents into right directions. But educational system of today is only places where students are trained to fit in a job market like uniform robots & teaching them how to score high most of the times. Only creative people can overcome these constraints & become pioneers in many unknown fields & branches through innovations. Now coming to illegal mandates govt. has imposed through their proxies are further making their task harder for an pandemic hoax. Time for students & parents to do their own research & stand up & stop all these mandates which are against the constitutional rights of people. Unless this is done there is no hope for the future generations to decide their future uncontrolled by elites who want to control the whole world to enrich themselves while keeping all others as their slaves by giving them limited freedom based on social credit score system which is followed only in China. All future digital steps to having unique Health I D & Green Passports based on useless jabs which will last only until the next booster doses. Youth of today who are Future of every nation have to wake up early to end this scamdemic.

hybrid is the way to go for education, reduce the class size by having classes on only some days of the week for every batch... these in class sessions should be more for doubt clearings, discussions etc. and not for one way lectures... one way lectures can be given through online....

Good decision. When State Government has finally decided to open physical classes for all categories from Primary to Secondary and even University level institutions in Karnataka, it makes sense to start on campus teaching in a reputed University like Christ. Further, it is nice to note that the University is insisting on adhering to Covid protocols, especially since the threat of the pandemic has not been fully eliminated. We need to be careful and vigilant. Further, it is good that University is taking steps to look after the health of students if necessary and even arrange for vaccination to those who are not fully vaccinated.
