Second day Novena celebrated at Our Lady of Health Minor Basilica, Harihara, diocese of Shimoga

Davanagere, Sep 1: Second day's Novena at Our Lady of Health, Minor Basilica, Harihara, Davanagere District, diocese of Shimoga was held on August 31.

Novena began at 5:30 pm with Rosary, with the procession and Novena led by rector of the Minor Basilica, Fr George K A.

Floral homage to the Blessed Virgin Mary was led by Fr George K A outside of the Church.

Then Fr Vinuth Balu, assistant parish priest of Our Lady of Assumption Church, Hiriyur, offered the holy Eucharist. He preached his homily on the theme: ‘God the Father is the Saviour of the Marginalised.’ He based his preaching on Isaiah 58:6-12 and Luke 12:22-32.

Rector of the Minor Basilica, Fr George K A, assistant parish priest Fr Anthony Rosario MSFS, Fr Alvine Stanislaus, correspondent and manager of Lourdes Boys School, Davanagere, and Fr Alphonse Lobo concelebrated the Holy Eucharist.

After the Mass, Fr Vinuth Balu led a short adoration and prayed for the pilgrims. This concluded with the benediction, and then the priests prayed over the pilgrims.
