Udupi, Sep 1: Rotary Club Manipal was honoured with the Best Club Service Award in the large clubs category at the Rotary International District 3182 District Awards ceremony held in Hassan on August 29.

The award was presented in recognition of the club’s commendable humanitarian and community service initiatives undertaken across various fields.

Addressing the gathering, awards committee chairman PDG Rotarian CA Devanand said the awards ceremony was organised to celebrate humanitarian service and recognise Rotary clubs that had undertaken outstanding service projects. He said such recognition would inspire other clubs to take up meaningful initiatives and reach out to people in need.

IPDG Rotarian Palaksha K congratulated all the award-winning clubs and appreciated the dedicated efforts of Rotarians involved in community service. He urged members to continue their good work in accordance with Rotary International’s motto, “Service Above Self.”

On behalf of Rotary Club Manipal, the award was received by club president Rotarian Shashikala Rajavarma, Rotarian Vanishree and treasurer Rotarian Ratnakar Udyavar.

Expressing her gratitude, Rotarian Shashikala Rajavarma said the award was the result of the collective efforts, dedication and teamwork of all members of Rotary Club Manipal. She particularly acknowledged the encouragement, guidance and support extended by Assistant Governor Rotarian Amit Aravind.

She said the various projects undertaken by Rotary Club Manipal had brought about positive and meaningful changes in the lives of people and that the club had also successfully implemented impactful initiatives in the field of environmental conservation.

She thanked all the members for their wholehearted support and commitment towards community service.
