Mumbai, Aug 31: India’s World Cup-winning captain Rohit Sharma will headline Sony Pictures Networks India’s upcoming show ‘Family Full House’, marking his debut in the entertainment sector.
The makers announced the title and premiere date of the show on Monday. ‘Family Full House’ is slated to premiere on September 19, 2026, on Sony Entertainment Television and Sony LIV.
Rohit has already retired from Test and T20 cricket but continues to play ODI cricket.

Cricket fans are eagerly awaiting a decision on whether the 39-year-old will feature in the 2027 ODI World Cup. During India’s recent tour of England, there was speculation that the series decider could be Rohit’s final international appearance for the country.
However, Rohit scored a match-winning 138 during India’s 388-run chase against England. He finished the three-match ODI series with 175 runs at an average of 58.33 and a strike rate of 98.31.
Earlier this month, Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) announced its expansive festive-season content slate, which also included ‘Family Full House’.
The line-up features the latest season of the reality game show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’, hosted by Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan, as well as the ‘Indian Game Show’, hosted by television couple Bharti Singh and Harsh Limbachiyaa. The show brings together popular television personalities for a series of fun challenges.
Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn has also turned host for the true-crime series ‘Crime Patrol 2026’.
The festive-season slate further includes ‘Scam 2010’, directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Hansal Mehta. The Sony LIV, Birla Studios and Applause Entertainment series will chronicle the rise and fall of a massive financial empire.
