Hubballi, Apr 28: Kannada actor Shanaya Katve and her live-in partner allegedly killed her brother and disposed of the body in a jungle, for raising objections to their relationship, police said.
Dharwad superintendent of police P Krishnakant said that the young actress was allegedly in a relationship with a small-time realtor which was opposed by her brother.
"Rakesh was a major hurdle to her love affair. Hence he was murdered and his body was burnt," P Krishnakant said.

A charred and badly mutilated torso packed in a plastic bag was recovered from the Devaragudihal forest area on April 12. Subsequently, a case was registered and investigations were carried out by a special team to nab the culprit.
After gathering inputs from various sources, it was found that Rakesh Katve, a housekeeper in a bar, was missing. Further investigations revealed that the deceased's sister was in a relationship with Niyaz and had been living together as a paying guest.
The police arrested Shanaya, Niyaz and his three friends who have been remanded to police custody. Investigations revealed that even Niyaz's family members were also involved in the crime.
"Prima facie, it looks like a case of a love affair. We have not come across their affiliation to any organisation but our investigations are on," Krishnakant said.
Shanaya Katve has worked in a yet-to-be-released film 'Chhota Bombay'.
