Anand Pawar wins Austrian Open

Bangalore, Feb 25: Ace shuttler Anand Pawar has become only the second Indian to win Austrian Open men's singles crown.

Pawar, 21 defeated world number 60 Vladislav Druzchenko of Ukraine in straight sets in Vienna, a Tata Padukone Badminton Academy press release said.

Late Syed Modi was the first Indian to achieve the feat. The win is expected to push the 124th ranked Pawar up the ranking ladder.
