Jodhpur, Oct 1: This wasn’t the headless horseman of Sleepy Hollow, but a headless apparition that some claim to have seen in a palace here.

Director Priyadarshan shot a major chunk of his movie Bhool Bhulaiya in Chomu Palace here. And a tale told by the locals about the palace spooked some of the crewmembers.

The locals apparently told the crew that the palace was haunted because its king was beheaded in a war and his headless body was brought to the palace by his horse. The dead king was cremated in the palace compound.

This story affected some of the members of the film’s shooting unit, who claimed to have heard strange sounds and felt a presence in the palace. Some even allege that they saw an apparition.

Coincidentally, the movie’s story also has a supernatural angle.

The film’s director Priyadarshan , who doesn’t believe in ghosts, thinks that the stories told by the locals and the eerie atmosphere on the sets (which was created for the purpose of the movie) played on the imaginations of some of the unit members and they thought there was an apparition in the palace.

The movie was shot there for more than three weeks, which was a tough time for a few in the crew.

‘Bhool Bhulaiya’ stars Akshay Kumar , Vidya Balan , Shiney Ahuja and Amisha Patel .
