Bantwal: Expatriate dies of chest pain after playing cricket in Vittal

Bantwal, Jul 29: An expatriate who had returned to his hometown from Bahrain just a week ago tragically passed away after experiencing severe chest pain following a cricket match on July 26.

The deceased has been identified as Divakar Shetty (52), son of Seetharama Shetty and Pushpavathi, residents of Bengrodi in Kepu village. He was employed at a restaurant in Bahrain and was known to be a good cricket player.

According to family sources, Divakar had gone to an indoor ground in Chandalike near Vittal to play cricket with his friends and relatives. Shortly after the game ended, as he was preparing to head back home, he suddenly complained of severe chest pain.

He was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Vittal, where doctors administered first aid and advised the family to shift him to a hospital in Puttur for advanced treatment. However, upon reaching the hospital in Puttur, the doctors examined him and pronounced him dead.

He is survived by his wife, a son, and his parents.

    Very sad.I find it negligence from doctor to move him from place in such a emergency time where he needed rest and heavy medication and oxygen immediately.Are these doctors or who treated him was a doctor or a nonmedical person?Through such people who are not able to handle a emergency case are not fit to work in hospital or Pharmacy.Atleast he could send patient with a ambulance having facility of oxygen to other hospital ?Telling home people to take elsewhere ?was notat all a good idea.Put a case on him.Heartfelt sympathies to family.Giving oxygen is never a bad idea in such cases.May his soul rest in peace.

    Game of cricket involves lots of running between wickts or in ground while fuelding. Even professional cricketers get retired by 40 or so. Those who regularly practice would play for fun or time pass but not rigorously. Many deaths have occurred in GCC countries where expatriates usually play firendly games or against local cricket teams.few deth cardiac arrest had taken place. This case
