India eves face New Zealand in third hockey Test

Stratford (New Zealand), Nov 7 (IANS): Indian junior women's hockey team will take on New Zealand in the third of the six-match Test series at the TET Multisports Centre here Saturday.

India lost 1-2 in the opening encounter before putting up a brave fight to hold New Zealand girls 2-2 in the second game.

The young squad led by defender Deep Grace Ekka is determined to come up with a much more convincing display Saturday.

“The team has been consistently giving a fair attempt in the previous matches. Saturday's match is expected to be more tactful and our priority will be to overcome the mistakes committed in the last matches in order to improve the game. The girls intend to be stronger mentally and give a tough time to the opponents," chief coach Neil Hawgood said Friday.
