Mandya, Apr 15: Prime minister Narendra Modi visited the Adichunchanagiri Math in Mandya district on Wednesday, April 15, to inaugurate the magnificent 'Sri Guru Bhairavaikya Mandira', a memorial constructed in the exquisite Dravidian-Hoysala architectural style.
Upon his arrival at the Math, the prime minister performed the inauguration and subsequently visited the Kalabhairaveshwara temple to offer prayers and perform 'Aarati'. The seers of the Math blessed the prime minister by applying 'Tilak' on his forehead. Following the rituals, PM Modi offered floral tributes at the memorial statue of the late Dr Balagangadharanatha Mahaswamiji and toured the interior of the newly built temple.

Union ministers H D Kumaraswamy and Shobha Karandlaje, and Karnataka governor Thaawarchand Gehlot, along with other dignitaries, were present on the occasion.
The Bhairavaikya Mandira has been constructed at the very site where the final rites of the late Dr Balagangadharanatha Mahaswamiji were performed. Spread across an expansive 26,250 square feet, the structure is a marvel of Dravidian and Hoysala craftsmanship. According to sources, the memorial was built at an estimated cost of Rs 80 crore.
Beyond being a monument, the grand temple is envisioned as a spiritual energy centre for devotees, reflecting a seamless blend of heritage, intricate sculpture, and profound devotion.
