Appeal: Mission of love and hope at Narampady through 'Kalotsav 2026'

Media Release

Kasargod, Jan 22: Kalotsav is one of the most vibrant and meaningful cultural festivals of the Kasaragod Varado, bringing together sixteen parishes of the Kasargod deanery in a celebration of faith, culture and unity. More than a cultural or competitive event, Kalotsav serves as a powerful platform that unites children, youth, adults and senior citizens, fostering talent, fellowship and strong inter-parish relationships.

Kalotsav 2026 will be hosted at St John de Britto Church, Narampady, and carries a purpose that extends far beyond celebration. This year’s edition is envisioned as a mission of love and hope, seamlessly blending cultural expression with compassionate social action.

At the heart of Kalotsav 2026 lies a noble humanitarian mission focused on providing shelter and dignity to the underprivileged. The initiative aims to construct new homes for four homeless and deserving families, while also repairing seven existing houses for poor and vulnerable families within the parish. For these families, a home represents safety, dignity and a new beginning. Through this mission, Kalotsav seeks to transform lives by offering stability, security and renewed hope.

The parish of Narampady largely comes from an economically modest background and faces financial limitations. However, the spirit of unity and service remains strong. Members of the SVP, ICYM and the entire parish community have come together with deep commitment and generosity to support this cause. The parish is blessed with skilled volunteers such as masons, carpenters and painters, who have willingly offered their labour for the construction and repair work. While manpower and dedication are abundantly available, financial support for materials and essential expenses continues to be a pressing need.

This meaningful mission is guided and encouraged by the parish leadership under the able guidance of Fr Anil Francis Pinto, parish priest, along with John Crasta, vice president of the Parish Council, and Ravi Kumar Crasta, Parish Council secretary and SVP president. Together with the parishioners, they extend a heartfelt invitation to all people of goodwill to join hands in making Kalotsav 2026 a success.

The organising committee humbly appeals to benefactors, sponsors, institutions and well-wishers to generously support Kalotsav 2026 – A Mission of Love and Hope. Every contribution, whether big or small, will directly help in building homes for four homeless families and repairing seven houses for the poor and deserving. This initiative offers a sacred opportunity to restore dignity, provide shelter and create a future filled with hope. Those who support this mission become instruments of compassion and mercy, making a lasting difference in the lives of many.
