Panaji, Aug 23: Goa Forward Party (GFP) chief Vijai Sardesai on Saturday launched an outreach programme across Kushavati district, beginning his tour from the Sanvordem constituency as part of efforts to strengthen the party's grassroots presence and connect directly with people.

Sardesai was accompanied by former minister Deepak Pauskar during the visit. The two leaders toured various parts of the constituency, met local residents and community members and sought to understand public sentiment amid the ongoing political developments in Goa.

The outreach programme assumes significance as the GFP seeks to expand its organisational network at the grassroots level and establish greater direct contact with people across the district.

During the visit, Sardesai and Pauskar interacted with residents and listened to their views on a range of local and broader issues. They also assessed the response to the GFP's political campaign and its appeal for greater participation of Goemkars in determining the future political direction of the state.

Addressing the gathering during the outreach, Sardesai said the response from residents in Sanvordem indicated a growing desire for political change in Goa.

“The overwhelming response and enthusiasm from the people of Sanvordem is a clear message that Goa is ready for change and Goemkars are ready to make their voice heard,” Sardesai said.

He said the enthusiasm displayed by residents reflected their willingness to consider an alternative political platform and raise their concerns and aspirations.

The participation of Pauskar also added political significance to the Sanvordem leg of the programme. The former minister and prominent political figure interacted with residents and took part in discussions during the tour.

The GFP leadership is expected to use the outreach exercise to strengthen its grassroots organisation, identify constituency-specific concerns and build political momentum across Kushavati district.

The Sanvordem visit marks the beginning of the wider outreach programme, with Sardesai expected to visit other parts of Kushavati district and continue interacting with residents in the coming days.
