Mangaluru, Feb 28: A one-day national-level workshop titled 'Content writing as a profession: From script to screen' was organised by the Department of Languages, Milagres College, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), on February 28, at the college auditorium.
The programme was inaugurated by Fr Bonaventure Nazareth, correspondent of Milagres Educational Institutions. In his inaugural address, he stated that in today’s digital era, such creative workshops significantly complement academic learning. He encouraged students to utilise such platforms to enhance their creative and professional competencies.







Dr Alwin Serrao, principal and workshop director, welcomed the gathering and observed that in an era driven by artificial intelligence, initiatives like these play a vital role in fostering creativity, critical thinking, and originality among students.
The keynote resource person, Disha Prabhu, co-founder and creative director of Alter Marketing Solutions, spoke on the scope and challenges of content creation in digital media. She highlighted the increasing demand for skilled content writers in marketing, branding, and social media.
Dr Gawtham Jyothsna, assistant professor, Department of English, Besant Women’s College, delivered a special lecture on the creative dimensions of screenplay writing and the transition from script to screen, providing practical insights into storytelling techniques.
Nearly 150 students, along with faculty members and language enthusiasts from various colleges, actively participated in the interactive sessions and gained valuable exposure to professional opportunities in writing. Certificates were distributed at the conclusion of the workshop.
The event was coordinated by Prof Sowmya Kotian, Mamatha Shetty, Priya Bhat, Nawshin Banu, and Pramila Mascarenhas. Manjusha, programme coordinator proposed the vote of thanks, and assistant professor Shravya N compered the programme.
