It was followed by a prayer which created a serene and reflective atmosphere. Chaitra Shetty, ACOE, extended a warm and gracious welcome to the esteemed dignitaries, teaching, non-teaching staff and students.
Prof. Jeevan Raj, principal, presented the inspiring Annual Report for the academic year 2025–26, highlighting YIASCM’s rapid growth into a hub of academic excellence, innovation, and industry integration since its inception in 2017. With over 6,000 students enrolled across more than 50 programmes in diverse disciplines—ranging from management and science to commerce and the arts—the institute continues to emphasise real-world learning, research, and holistic development. Strong placement records, global collaborations, and impactful community engagement initiatives reflect the institute’s unwavering commitment to nurturing future-ready leaders.
The chief guest, Amit Singh, IPS, delivered a thought-provoking and motivating address about the aspirations and responsibilities of Generation Z. He emphasized that success is not merely defined by achievements, but by the strength of one’s character—especially in moments when no one is watching. True integrity, he remarked, is the foundation upon which lasting success is built. He cautioned students against falling into harmful habits, particularly substance abuse, which is increasingly becoming a matter of concern in society. He noted that while authorities strive to address the issue, prevention ultimately lies in the hands of the youth through conscious choices and self-discipline. Highlighting the role of family and educators, he reminded the audience that who they are today—and who they will become tomorrow—is deeply shaped by the values instilled by parents and teachers. He urged students to honour these contributions by striving to become responsible and compassionate individuals. In conclusion, he encouraged the young minds to dream ambitiously, remain grounded, and above all, endeavour to become good human beings—individuals of whom their families, institutions, and society can be truly proud.
Guest of honour Dr. P. P. Devan, extended his heartfelt congratulations to the entire team for their exemplary leadership and management skills. In an inspiring message, the speaker reminded students that growth begins with mindful communication, for “a slip of the tongue” can leave a lasting impact. He encouraged the habit of learning something new each day, noting that consistent effort, even over a week, refines one’s command of language and builds confidence to excel on a global stage. True success, he said, lies in the willingness to reinvent oneself continually; without self-renewal, one’s career may lose direction. He emphasized that while Intelligence Quotient (IQ) may shape academic achievement, Emotional Quotient (EQ) and Nature Quotient (NQ) profoundly influence life, relationships, and leadership. Students were urged to “be the captain of their own ship,” taking responsibility for their choices and steering their lives with clarity and purpose. Equally, he highlighted the importance of health and well-being. A balanced diet rich in green leafy vegetables, adequate sunlight for Vitamin D, and simple habits such as drinking fresh lime juice contribute to heart health and help prevent lifestyle diseases that are increasingly common today. Caring for one’s health, he observed, is the wisest investment—only a healthy individual can truly safeguard both wealth and happiness.
Finally, he underscored humility as the cornerstone of lasting success. Achievements and prosperity gain meaning only when accompanied by modesty and grace. By remaining humble, disciplined, and health-conscious, one can build not only a successful career but also a life of dignity, balance, and purpose.
Dr. Shareena P. addressed the gathering during the NEP Sarathi Newsletter release ceremony, highlighting the institution’s firm commitment to the effective implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. She elaborated on key features such as the multiple entry and exit system, emphasizing its role in providing flexibility and learner-centric education, and reiterated the goal of achieving 100% awareness and alignment with NEP principles within YIASCM and the wider community. To extend this awareness beyond the campus, various outreach initiatives were organized, including NEP-themed street plays and poster-making activities, enabling students to creatively engage with and disseminate the policy’s vision. These efforts reflected the institution’s proactive approach to fostering understanding, participation, and educational transformation in line with NEP 2020 thereby receiving UGC recognition.
In his address, Dr. B. H. Sripathi Rao, pro vice-chancellor fondly recalled his own student days, observing that annual day celebrations are moments of reflection, inspiration, and renewed commitment to learning. He encouraged students to make the best use of the opportunities available to them, emphasizing that active involvement in academic, cultural, and social activities is essential for holistic development. Congratulating the institution on the achievements of YIASCM, he praised the collective efforts of the management, faculty, and students in fostering excellence. He urged the young minds to believe in themselves, to rise above challenges with confidence, and to continually strive to lift themselves through perseverance and dedication. The speaker concluded by stressing the importance of inculcating strong values in life, noting that character and integrity remain the true foundations of success. Such values, he remarked, guide individuals not only towards professional accomplishment but also towards becoming responsible and compassionate members of society.
