Mangaluru, Feb 12: Dr M V Shetty College of Physiotherapy conducted 30th year Dr M V Shetty Memorial inter physiotherapy colleges cricket tournament, a physio premier league for girls and boys Dr M R Shetty Memorial Cup on February 6 and 7, at NMPT ground Panambur and Padua ground, KPT.
Inaugural programme was started with a prayer song on February 6 at in NMPT ground, Panambur. Prof Dr L Gladson Jose the convenor welcomed the gathering. Dr Divyanjali Shetty, managing trustee of Dr M V Shetty institutions unveiled the trophy and inaugurated the tournament. Prof Mohammad Suhail, chairman BOS in PG Physiotherapy RGUHS was the guest of honour. During his speech he stated that he was the captain during 2009 to 11 and his team won championship cup three times. Basty Purushotham Shenoy, governing council member of Canara Vikas College of Physiotherapy participated in inauguration. There were 28 boys teams and 24 girls teams had registered and participated in this year tournament. The master of ceremony of inaugural programme was lecturer, Dr Dhanya Kunder. The officials of the tournament were Pushparaj, Pavan, Hariprasad Alva and Divakara Shetty.
















































The valedictory ceremony was started on February 7th in NMPT ground, Panambur. Dr Ranjith Shetty, trustee, Dr M V Shetty Memorial trust presided and distributed the trophies to the winners. KTG college of physiotherapy emerged as the men champions and Dr M V Shetty college of physiotherapy bagged the Women champion of Dr M R Shetty memorial cup 2026. Both men and women runners up were bagged by Srinivas College of Physiotherapy.
In boys’ category Renukesh from Spoorthi College of Physiotherapy won man of the series. Man of the match was Venu Madhav and best fielder was Anil from KTG College of Physiotherapy. Minhaj from Kanachur College of Physiotherapy was best bowler of the tournament. Best batsman was Gaurav from Srinivas College of Physiotherapy.
In girls’ category Ankitha from Dr M V Shetty college of Physiotherapy was women of the series. Best bowler was Riona Mendonca from Father Muller College of Physiotherapy. Jayashree from Shreedevi College of Physiotherapy was best fielder. Best bats woman was Surabhi from Srinivas College of Physiotherapy. Ankitha B from Dr M V Shetty college of Physiotherapy was women of the match.
Prof U T Ifthikar Fareed, chairman, Karnataka State Allied and health care Professional Council was the organising chairman. Prof Vaishali, senate member RGUHS was the organising secretary. Dr L Gladson Jose was the convener. Jayaprasad, physical director was the coordinator. Faculty members Dr Jitto C Jayan entrusted the food stall. Dr Arya was in registration. Dr Amin Divya was in-charge of trophies. Dr Jayashree arranged the transport. Physical directors, principals and staff from various participating physiotherapy colleges were present. The trustees and director academics of Dr M V Shetty Institutions congratulated the organizing team for the successful completion of the tournament.
