St Agnes PU College, founded by Mother Aloysia, is a minority educational institution that traces its roots to the Apostolic Carmel Congregation founded by Venerable Mother Veronica of the Passion at Bayonne, France, in 1868. The institution was established in India at St Ann’s campus, Mangaluru, in 1870 with the vision of promoting women’s empowerment through education.


It is significant to note that the college has been a pioneer in this regard and has played a pivotal role in championing the dignity and rights of women.
