Train services on Mangaluru-Subramanya route cancelled for 35 days

Mangaluru, Mar 19: Due to urgent track maintenance work scheduled within the South Western Railway limits, significant changes have been made to the passenger train services operating between Mangaluru and Subramanya.

Passenger trains running between Mangaluru Central and Subramanya Road have been fully cancelled for a total of 35 days. Train no 56629 (Mangaluru – Subramanya Road Passenger) and train no 56630 (Subramanya Road – Mangaluru Passenger) will remain cancelled from March 23 to April 14, and again from June 10 to June 21.

Changes in express train schedules

The department has also announced changes in the timings of several express trains during the month of April:

  • Delayed services: Yeshwantpur – Karwar (16515), Yeshwantpur – Mangaluru (16575), and Yeshwantpur – Mangaluru (16539) express trains will be delayed by approximately 20 minutes.

  • Mangaluru – Subramanya passenger train (56229) will run with a delay of 55 minutes from April 21 to June 9.

Special trains for Ugadi and Ramzan

To manage the extra rush of passengers during the Ugadi and Ramzan festivals, South Western Railway is operating a one-trip special express train between Yeshwantpur, Madgaon, and Bengaluru Cantonment.

The Yeshwantpur – Madgaon special express will depart from Yeshwantpur on March 20 at 11:50 am and reach Madgaon at 6:45 am on Saturday. The return train will depart from Madgaon on March 22 at 11 am and reach Bengaluru Cantonment at 5:20 am on Monday.

The train will have stops at Kunigal, Channarayapatna, Hassan, Sakleshpur, Subramanya Road, Kabaka Puttur, Bantwal, Surathkal, Mulki, Udupi, Barkur, Kundapur, Byndoor, Bhatkal, Murudeshwar, Honnavar, Kumta, Gokarna Road, Ankola, and Karwar.

Cancellations in South Central Railway

Former railway advisory committee member Dr Baburao stated that several trains on the Kurnool – Kacheguda and Raichur – Kacheguda routes have also been cancelled from mid-March until April 1 due to operational reasons.

The affected services include:

  • Kurnool City – Kacheguda (17436) and Kacheguda – Kurnool City (17435) cancelled from March 12 to April 1.

  • Kacheguda – Raichur (67787, 17693) and Raichur – Kacheguda (67788, 17694) cancelled from March 11 to March 31.

  • Gadwal – Raichur (67784) and Raichur – Gadwal (67783) cancelled from March 11 to March 31.
