Mangaluru, Dec 27: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) inaugurated a new UIDAI Aadhaar Seva Kendra (ASK) in Mangaluru, Dakshina Kannada, on Friday, December 26, marking a significant step towards strengthening citizen-centric Aadhaar services in the city.

The Aadhaar Seva Kendra was inaugurated in a symbolic manner by an Aadhaar number holder, reflecting UIDAI’s focus on inclusivity and citizen-first service delivery. The inauguration programme was hosted by Gulshan Kumar Singh, deputy director, UIDAI Regional Office, Bengaluru.

The Aadhaar Seva Kendra is a UIDAI-operated facility established to provide secure, standardised, and high-quality Aadhaar-related services under direct supervision of UIDAI. Residents can avail services such as Aadhaar enrolment, demographic and biometric updates, error corrections, grievance redressal, and application status tracking at a single location, enhancing overall citizen convenience.

The centre will function on all seven days of the week, except on national holidays, enabling residents to access Aadhaar services at their convenience.

UIDAI Regional Office, Bengaluru, informed that the Mangaluru Aadhaar Seva Kendra has been established as a Model-C centre with four operational kits. Officials also stated that UIDAI plans to open 22 Aadhaar Seva Kendras across Karnataka and a total of 473 Aadhaar Seva Kendras nationwide by September 2026.

The initiative is part of UIDAI’s broader commitment to expanding accessible, efficient, and citizen-centric Aadhaar services, in line with the Government of India’s vision of digital inclusion and good governance.
