Udupi, Dec 9: In a major crackdown on illegal immigration, the Udupi principal senior civil judge and CJM court has sentenced 10 Bangladeshi nationals to two years’ imprisonment, along with a fine of Rs 10,000 each.
The case dates back to October 11, 2024, when PSI Praveen Kumar R of Malpe police station, while on patrol near Vadabandeshwara Bus Stand, noticed seven individuals moving suspiciously with luggage. Upon questioning, the group failed to provide valid documents permitting their stay in India.
