South Goa, Oct 12: Tensions ran high at several Gram Sabha meetings across South Goa on Sunday, as villagers from Guirdolim, Chandor, and Sacorda voiced strong concerns over mismanagement, incomplete works, and controversial development projects.

In Guirdolim, locals took the Panchayat to task over incomplete road works, questioning how certain sections were allegedly cleared without completion certificates. Demanding transparency and accountability, residents called for a vigilance probe into the approvals and execution of the projects.

Meanwhile, in Chandor, discussions around mega infrastructure projects turned heated. Villagers expressed strong opposition to proposed developments, citing environmental and cultural concerns, and accused authorities of ignoring public sentiment.

Over in Sacorda, the Gram Sabha raised red flags over irregularities in bush-cutting and related Panchayat works, with residents alleging mismanagement and poor oversight in project execution.

The meetings highlighted growing unrest among locals over governance lapses and lack of transparency in developmental activities, prompting calls for stricter scrutiny and community involvement in decision-making processes.
