Kasargod, Aug 28: In a shocking incident, three members of a family were found dead after allegedly consuming acid at Parakkayi near Ambalathara. The deceased have been identified as Gopi (58), his wife Indira (54), and their son Ranjesh (34). Another son, Rakesh (27), is in critical condition and has been admitted to the Kannur Government Medical College Hospital.

Preliminary reports suggest that financial difficulties may have driven the family to take the extreme step. The incident came to light around 3 am when one of the relatives received a distress call. It is believed that Ranjesh had called a relative, requesting to be rushed to the hospital immediately. However, despite being taken to the hospital by relatives and locals, three of them had already succumbed.

According to sources, Ranjesh and Rakesh had previously worked in Dubai but returned home two years ago and started a business. The venture, however, was unsuccessful, leading to mounting debts. It is said that the brothers eventually stopped their business activities and took up daily wage work.

Just days earlier, the family had visited relatives and gone on pilgrimages, locals informed.

Ambalathara police have registered a case and are investigating.

Very sad case. These people consumed Acid just because of business has gone down ?Even acid consume didnt help here. One should simply not start some business without knowledge or someones experience or taking advice.Even giving acid to children is like murder.Hope atleast now younger boy survives and know the truth.Wish him soon good health.May their soul rest in Peace.
